Let’s talk about the pain that doesn’t make headlines, the story behind rising numbers we whisper about, shake our heads at. Knowing alone was never the problem, we have made HIV something to fear instead of something to understand. How did we get here? How did we create a world where HIV infection feels like a moral failure? It is time to stop asking why they didn’t protect themselves and start asking why didn’t we protect them with love, support, and safety nets that actually catch them. Let’s move from what did you do?
